About Me
Hello again, this page will give you a bit more information about me and my practice.
I grew up in the beautiful county of Dorset, where, after travels abroad and time living in London, I returned to marry and bring up my children.
I have always been interested in people, their relationships and personal development, my career in counselling and psychotherapy has evolved from this.
I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, I also offer supervision to other practitioners.
I have been a qualified and practising counsellor for 12 years. During that time I have set up and managed a busy counselling service for a leading children's charity and currently run my own private and online practices. I work with clients from the private sector and referrals from various public agencies. I have broad experience of working both in organisational contexts and in private practice.
I obtained my diploma in counselling in 1997 and graduated with a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2006. I have since taken further training in Online Counselling with onlinecounsellors.co.uk. I have completed facilitator training with The Pacific Institute working in the field of personal development.
I am currently training in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and am looking forward to working more extensively with this method.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to its Ethical Framework, and am subject to the professional conduct procedures therein. I am also a member of The Association of Online Counsellors and Therapists (ACTO).
Today I live between Dorset and Brittany in France where my husband and I are renovating an old farmhouse.
I am interested in Eastern religious philosophy and practice integral Yoga. I have studied and practiced disciplines such as Reiki, Homeopathy, Flower Essences. I love to garden, paint and walk or run with my dog.
My website will continue to evolve and I hope in the near future to have pages about EFT, a gallery of my artwork and links to other relevant websites.
